[Daix — warmer, more personal]"There's a very famous tune called Sakura Sakura. I grew up in China, but that was one of the melodies our class sang together. I always just thought it was so pretty."
[Rio]"The cherry blossom is the symbol of my family. In the springtime, all the family would go out — sakurami — we'd eat onigiri, just hang out around the cherry blossom."
[Daix]"Right outside our living room window there was this big cherry blossom tree. One of the most beautiful and vivid memories of my childhood. So simple."
[MUSIC BED SWELLS SLIGHTLY]
[Daix — leaning in, more animated]"If you take the Ode to Joy melody, and then you take Sakura Sakura — they start the exact same way. Except Ode to Joy goes a half step, and Sakura goes a whole step."
