• “It’s a bittersweet story by a Chinese American director, about a mother and daughter in 1970s China. “We’re working with chamber and solo instruments, blending Western and traditional Chinese sounds. Most orchestral libraries are built for cinematic scale—not emotional proximity.

• Credibility: As a new-music composer, my focus is timbre, texture, and nonstandard sound worlds. That level of detail is exactly what this film needed.
